Dr. Stan Pylant, Conductor
Dr. Pylant is Director of Music at Christ Church, Presbyterian and is beginning his fourth season as Conductor of the Augusta Youth Chorale. Dr. Pylant is a graduate of the University of Louisiana, Lafayette (B. Mus.), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M. Mus.) and the Institute of Worship Studies (D.W.S.). He has served churches in Louisiana, Texas, Georgia and Oklahoma, most recently for twenty-two years at First Baptist Church of Augusta. Dr. Pylant is also a member of the CenturyMen, an auditioned male chorus of ministers of music from around the U.S., a member of the Sons of Jubal, a male chorus of ministers of music in Georgia, as well as a violist with Augusta Symphony. He and his wife, Kirsten, have two children; Nathan, a project engineer with Frito-Lay, and Brianna, an elementary music teacher at ACE Charter School in Macon, GA.
Dr. Mark Nabholz, Founding Conductor
Dr. Nabholz, currently Director of Choral Activities at Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi, was the previous Director of Music at Christ Church, Presbyterian and founding Director of the Augusta Youth Chorale. Dr. Nabholz is a graduate of Houghton College (B. Mus.), the Eastman School of Music (M. Mus.) and the University of South Carolina–Columbia (D.M.A.). He and his wife, Fran, have four children.
